In Canada, incentives are only available at a provincial level in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. Canadians living in other provinces do not have access to incentives of any kind. To make these vehicles even more affordable to every Canadian, we urge the Canadian Government to provide tax rebates and other incentives for those that choose to purchase zero emission vehicles.

Electric Vehicles (EV) are becoming more affordable with the introduction of the Tesla 3 and Nissan Leaf.

The United States Government currently offers a $7,500 federal income tax credit which is available to all residents. Many states also offer non-cash incentives, such as carpool lane access and free municipal parking.

Japan, India, China, Australia and 22 countries in Europe provide a range of incentives including:

  • automobile tax reductions
  • personal income tax deduction
  • purchase subsidies/rebates
  • road tax exemptions
  • free charging outlets
